Introduction

The Sandcastle Apartment is based on the North side of Scarborough on the beautiful North Bay blue flag beach, only aten minute walk away from Scarborough Castle. There is secure designated parking and if required a secure area in which to park bikes. On the lower floor there is a private gym for sole use of the residents, where you can have a great work out whilst looking out to sea. The Sandcastle Apartments are a great base to explore the surrounding area and discover the natural beauty of Scarborough without spending to much money.

Accommodation

The apartment comfortably sleeps five as the second room has bunk beds with a double at the bottom and a single on top. The main bedroom boasts an ensuite and king size bed. There is also a family bathroom with towels and linen provided. The kitchen is fitted with all mod cons including dish washer. There’s plenty to keep the children occupied in the apartment with DVD’s, CD’s, boardgames and Play Station 2 with games, all sure to be a hit whilst you relax on the balcony.

Friday evening

There are a number of superb restaurants in the local area so you won’t be stuck for somewhere to dine. If you don’t fancy going far after your drive, there is a fantastic bar restaurant below adjacent to the building called ‘The Blue Crush’. The Blue Cruch offers a range of freshly prepared meals with no drop in their standard for the childrens meals. Show your key fob when ordering to obtain a 10% discount on various meals. If your lucky enough you may even catch the solo guitarist playing on a Friday evening who is sure to relax you and the family.

Saturday

Take an open top bus round to the South bay along the coast line with stunning views, remeber to buy a return ticket if you wish to come back on the bus as this is cheaper. If the bus isn’t for you then you can still walk the route to the South bay as there is a wide flat promenade, hwoever be aware this may take twenty to thirty minutes. On the way to the bay there is a skate park and dirt track perfect for the children to burn of some of that energy. One area to look out for is the spa complex as it has some great shows on during the day and early evening. Be sure to visit the funfair and arcades as im sure this will keep the family busyfor hours. However, if the hustle and  bustle isn’t for you then why not take a fishing trip or a spin out on the rocket speed boat.

If you want to stay on the North bay there is plenty of coast for a gentle stroll. Take a walk to Peasholme Park with it’s beautiful boating lake, squirrels and birds. Here you will also be able to a ride on the miniture railway and treat yourself to a snack at the new Glass House Bistro all within a two minute walk.

Saturday evening

The town is a ten minute walk away which offers an array of world cuisines. Florios is a keen family favourite, where the service is good, portions are big and the price is reasonable. All this is topped off by a friendly atmosphere. As you head back to the apartment make a stop at the North Riding Hotel where you will be able to sample some of the finist real ales. It also serves good food and the bar has sky sports, pool table, juke box and quiz machine. Did we mention that children are welcome too.

Sunday morning & early afternoon

Why not start the day off with a stroll further round the North bay towards the Sea Life Centre. There are allways leaflets around offering reduced entrance fees so be sure to keep your eyes open. For the more adventurous of you, you can continue your walk along the cliffs past the Scalby Mills Pub, but be sure to be careful. If you don’t fancy a walk you could allways opt for indoor bowling at the Scarborough Bowling Centre which is only a five minute walk away. You can play indoor or outdoor at very reasonable prices with a family of 4 looking at paying no more than ten pouns for an hour.
