Friday evening
Phew you have arrived- get yourself unpacked and freshen up. Perhaps you would like a ploughman’s- homemade bread, local Cornish Yarg and Scrumpy will be provided in your cottage. Why not eat al fresco, however keep an eye out for the odd chicken who maybe around, ready to take a peck or two at your food if you’re not keeping an eye on it.
Explore your surroundings- Steppes Farm is a unique 14th Century farm complete with turret and dry moat, the team at Steppes will be more than happy to give you a tour of the main farmhouse. Here you will be able to meet the horses and other animals on the farm.
Later you can relax in the hot tub and look at the magnificent night skies, why not enjoy a sauna as well. After pampering yourself head back to your room for a good night’s sleep.

Saturday
Right, time to get up and at them- cook yourself a hearty breakfast, then off you go to enjoy your day. Drive to Rock where you can easily park right near the ferry. If you’re still not completely awake, take a walk along the beach or through the dunes taking in the fresh sea air. At your leisure take the ferry to Padstow. It’s a walk-on ferry which leaves Rock and arrives at Padstow in about 15 to 20 minutes.
Here you will be able to explore the lovely Padstow, perhaps enjoy some Rick Stein fish and chips, visit the Lobster Hatchery and/or hire a boat for a trip up the Estuary. Of course you can always do some shopping, perhaps buy some gifts to take home with you.
If you’re after something a little different, why not take a speedboat trip, there are 4 speedboats in Padstow- thunder, jaws, fire ball and sea fury. They run from Easter until October, let the team at Steppes Farm know in advance and they will happily book a trip for you.

Bodmin Moor
Saturday evening
You could hire a bike and view the stunning sunset whilst cycling along the Camel Trail to Wadebridge. Here you can rest and enjoy a drink or two by the harbour.
Stay in Padstow as long as you like- even if you are late you can phone the ferry and ask them to come and collect you.

Sunday morning & early afternoon
More fresh air today- a trip to Boscastle is in order, which is about a 20 minute drive away. Have a look around this beautiful fishing harbour- stop and have a coffee and cream cake. It’s definitely worth having a cream cake or two for a much needed enjoy boost if you’re to walk through the Valley of the Rocks to Tintagel. Not to worry though, you can get the bus back!!
Take your time during this stunning walk; this is an area of myths and legends- pure King Arthur territory. With its spectacular location on Cornwall’s dramatic Atlantic coastline, Tintagel is a place of myths and magic where the legend of King Arthur was born. Be on the lookout for the local wildlife with this historic spot providing the perfect breeding ground for sea birds, lizards and butterflies.
