Walking Weekend Breaks on the Jurassic Coast

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Lulworth Cove is hugely popular and receives around 500,000 visitors every year! The attraction is the beautiful blue lagoon-like bay formed naturally in the shape of a horseshoe through rock formations that tell the earth’s story over millions of years. Durdle Door is just along the coast to the west and is another spectacular rock formation hewn from the rock by the sea’s forces. The coast can be walked via the South West Coast Path and there are several permissive paths and steps down to the beaches at various intervals.

City & Seaside Weekend Breaks in Brighton

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Brighton is one of the UK’s premier city breaks and was recently voted as amongst the best in the world for beach cities. Boosted by its Regency architecture with spectacular centrepiece the Royal Pavilion, Brighton’s history as a seaside mecca really took off from the mid 1700s alongside the developing popularity of sea bathing. From 1750 theatres, new houses and the development of the Lanes culminated in a royal visit by the Prince of Wales in 1783 which guaranteed Brighton’s increasing popularity.
